The electrochemistry of the sulfur rings , , and in acetonitrile and methanol was followed by separating them by HPLC and then observing them with UV detectors and electrochemical flow cells. Half‐wave potentials were measured at a gold electrode in a thin layer flow cell and quantitative coulometric reductions were achieved at a porous carbon electrode showing kinetic effects. Significant adsorption effects by all these sulfur species were noted on the electrodes. In addition to the electrochemistry, the UV spectra of these rings are given and the decomposition of due to added nucleophiles was observed.
