The low‐temperature dc and ac magnetic measurements of Fe(III)–crosslinked chitosan complexes are reported. The results obtained indicate a complex magnetic structure in which strong antiferromagnetic interactions coexist with weak ferromagnetism. Fe‐chitosan exhibits features of a glassy state as well as canted antiferromagnetism and its low temperature collective magnetic behaviour can result from the coexistence of these two types of ordering.
