In this paper, a pulsewidth modulation (PWM) based robust adaptive sliding mode control (SMC) is designed for a boost converter subject to unknown parameters. An estimator is used to design the adaptation laws to estimate the converter parameters. The controller designed tightly regulates the output voltage despite the unknown parameters. The robustness of this controller is validated experimentally and tested against large input voltage variations and step load changes.
