Cyclotron absorption has been observed in n -type lead telluride with carrier concentrations of a wide range. The transverse effective mass increases from m t =0.0242 m 0 to m t =0.0283 m 0 and the anisotropic mass ratio decreases from K = m l / m t =9.34 to K = m l / m t =7.91, with increasing carrier concentrations from 1.23×10 17 to 3.0×10 18 cm -3 . The observed absorption curves show good agreement with the theoretical curves calculated under the classical skin effect conditions following the method of Numata and Uemura.
