Osteosarcoma is most commonly encountered in the teenage individual.1 The recent referral of a 20-month-old boy with this tumor to the M. D. Anderson Hospital and Tumor Institute prompted a comparison of characteristics of the disease reported in early childhood with those of older patients. CASE REPORT A 20-month-old Filipino boy was admitted with a provisional diagnosis of osteosarcoma involving the left femur. He had been in good health until a few months prior to admission when he began limping. Radiographs obtained at his local hospital revealed a lytic-blastic lesion at the distal left femur and a needle biopsy suggested a diagnosis of osteoblastoma.
