The particulars of foliar mineral nutrient uptake are shortly reviewed in both terrestrial and aquatic carnivorous plants with an emphasize on yet unexplained phenomena: stimulation of root mineral nutrient uptake by the foliar nutrient uptake, K+ uptake and reutilization in aquatic species and commensal-trap nutritional relationships in Utricularia.
