The triplet spectrum of doubly excited Be III has been studied in the wavelength region of 75-5000 Å in order to test the validity of the theoretical term values reported by Lipsky et al. The beam-foil excitation technique was applied to effectively populate the doubly excited states. The identified lower-lying, doubly excited states 2 p 2 3 P , 2 pnp 3 P , or 3 D , and 2 pnd 3 P , or 3 D ( n = 3, 4) show that the theoretical term values should be slightly modified.
