Fruiting and mycelial development of Thelephora terrestris (Ehr.) Ft. in an inorganic perlite-nutrient solution medium was directly related to the mycorrhizal association with Pinus virginiana Mill. seedlings. Preventing photosynthesis of the pine seedlings completely inhibited mycelialgrowth and sporophore development of the fungus.
