Many patients infected by the SARS CoV2 virus suffer from prolonged and significant disability after the initial infection. Terms such as post-acute sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC) and long COVID have been used to describe the diverse cluster of multi-system symptoms which persist beyond 3 months after infection with this virus [1]. Incidence of long COVID varies as new strains of COVID-19 emerge. However, its estimated that long COVID affects between 10-30% of people who become infected with COVID-19, with one in seven patients still symptomatic at 12 weeks [1, 2].
