Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) is a binary tpe of tumor therapy which utilizes the special properties of the boro‐10 nucleus to capture thermal neutrons and undergo a nuclear disintegration. It can be used successfully when bond‐loaded compounds can deliver the required amounts of boron to the tumor cells. Several classes of boron‐containing compounds have been prepared and used in preliminary screening experiments. Their development poses a challenge to the chemist.
