A computer simulation study is made on the atomic structure of {1121} twin boundary using a truncated Lennard-Jones potential. It is found that twinned crystals never satisfy the mirror symmetry: in the twin, the alternate basal plane sare displaced by a √3/12 normal to the plane of shear in the opposite direction and the stacking sequence is changed from the ABAB…. to the ACAC… It is shown that the zonal twinning dislocation concept is unnecessary to the {1121} twinning.
