A new theoretical treatment of the dependence of surface pressure on the concentration of linear polymer molecules in a monolayer is presented. The development follows closely that given in the author's recent revised theory of the thermodynamic properties of threedimensional polymer solutions, relating the observed properties to pertinent molecular and intermolecular properties. The new equations are compared with older ones in the literature. Applications to some experimental data in the literature are given.
