Emission spectra have been obtained from the alloy Cu 3 Au in both the ordered and disordered state. The spectra obtained were the transitions valence →M 23 for copper, and O 45 →N 6 and O 45 →N 7 for gold. No changes in these spectra were observed with ordering of the alloy, and the alloy spectrum may be obtained by simple addition of the spectra of the pure metals. These observations are discussed in relation to the other physical properties.
