Several polymers have been prepared from 4,4′‐sulfonyldiphenol (SDP) or its bis‐phenate salt as the nucleophile in condensation polymerizations. Ester‐sulfone‐amic acid polymers were of fairly high molecular weight, and could be imidized. Soluble film‐forming poly ether‐ester‐sulfones were prepared from diphenyl ether diacid chloride.
