A New Low‐Temperature Synthesis of l,2‐Dihydro‐l,2‐diphosphetes

Insertion of R2PCl2 into a PC bond of phosphirenes 1 and “Cl2” abstraction with Bu3P at low temperatures results in the formation of the dihydrodiphosphetes 2 in good yields (R, R1, R2 = alkyl, aryl).
