A simple, convenient and environmentally friendly procedure for the synthesis of benzo[4,5]imidazo[1,2-a]pyrimidine derivatives has been developed through a one-pot three-component reaction of aldehyde, β-dicarbonyl compound and 2-aminobenzimidazole catalyzed by sulfamic acid under a solvent-free condition.
