The adhesiveness of human leucocytes to glass beads was examined with respect to plasma, dialyzed plasma, serum, dialyzed serum, heat-inactivated serum, fibrinogen, calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium. The leucocytes had adhesive properties in dialyzed serum, and fibrinogen stimulated the adhesiveness. Serum may contain a thermo-labile factor which inhibits the adhesiveness. Calcium had no influence on the adhesiveness while magnesium had a marked stimulatory effect. In media containing sodium and potassium the leucocytes had adhesive properties.
