A facile synthesis of sulfonyl amidines via carbon-nitrogen bond formation mediated by FeCl(3) was developed and an interesting major product of cyclic tertiary amine was observed, which showed the good selectivity of FeCl(3)-mediated activation of cyclic alpha-C-H bonds of cyclic tertiary amines.
