Rotational analyses of the 1,0,0,0 and 0,1 bands of the β system of NS have been carried out. It is found that the transition is 2 Δ- 2 Π and not 2 Π- 2 Π as has hitherto been supposed. The rotational constants of the state A 2 Δ are: B ν = 0.6960 4 - 0.0069 5 (ν + ½); r e = 1.576 8 Å. In the same spectral region there occur the c 2 Σ-X 2 Π system (γ-bands) and other weaker bands which may belong to a system B( 2 Π)-X 2 Π.
