A triangular differential quadrature method (TDQM) is proposed in the paper. The partial derivative of a function with respect to space variables at a given point is approximated by a weighted linear summation of the function values at all discrete points in the triangular domain. The weighting coefficients are determined with the aid of area coordinates in the triangular domain. Two simple examples are provided to validate the new numerical method. It is shown that the method is accurate and reliable.
