Rapid straining of ring yam is known to result in a higher breaking load. This may or may not hold good for rotor yams, owing to their different structure. In this work, we have studied the influence of extension rate and test length on the tenacity and breaking extension of acrylic and viscose rotor spun yams and their blends. We report some interesting results that are contrary to what one generally expects.
