One of the most significant lines of current distribution network planning research in the present systems with the sound of renewable energy scenario is to look at various ways to improve the stability and performance of these networks without having to extend the existing infrastructure. This paper proposes a new modified camel algorithm (NMCA) to find an optimal distribution network reconfiguration (DNR) and photovoltaic distributed generation (PVDG) unit's configuration (number, size, and location). The proposed NMCA with L∞ optimized Multi-objective functions. The multi-objective function considers the voltage profile, congestion of network lines, and power loss reduction with suitable weights without violating the system constraints. The proposed algorithm has successfully experimented on 33-bus, 69-bus, and 84bus distribution networks. The obtained results confirmed the superiority effectiveness of NMCA for solving DNR and PVDGs configuration problems over other competitive algorithms.Furthermore, NMCA robustness and stability were proved through a detailed statistical analysis.
