It is pointed out that all higher order odd Born amplitudes calculated in the closure approximation vanish in the forward direction for elastic scattering of structureless charged particles by hydrogen atoms. The consequences of this result on elastic scattering of charged particles by complex atoms and on other approximate theories are also discussed.
