Three types of petrified filician rhizomes and their associated petioles and roots from the Rajmahal Hills, Bihar, India are described. Two rhizomes possess protostelic vasculature with mesarch protoxylem elements and exarch protoxylem points. The former are gleicheniaceous while the latter is described as a schizaeaceous rhizome. The associated petioles possess typical gleicheniaceous anatomy while the roots show variations in the structure of epiblema and cortex.
