With a twist: When oligosilanes are mixed with polysaccharides, such as amylose and schizophyllan, novel inclusion complexes are formed (see picture). The oligosilane guests adopt a helical conformation within the chiral channel created by left- or right-handed helical wrapping with the polysaccharide host polymers.
