The perpendicular bending fundamentals of CH2N2 have been examined under medium resolution. A new fundamental mode has been identified at 564.0 cm—1 and band centers at 1109.0, 421.2, and 406.0 cm—1 have been located. The assignment of the individual Q branches shows that the three lowest frequency fundamentals are strongly Coriolis coupled. An analysis of the spectrum yields band centers, Coriolis coupling constants, and rotational constants. An improved estimate of the A moment of inertia has been made, giving the HCH angle (126.0°) and the C–H bond length (1.075 Å).
