The steel beam-CFST column joint reinforced by flange connection and external stiffening rings represents a novel connection method. Finite element analysis was conducted to examine the force characteristics of both traditional and new stiffeners in the proposed connection method. The mechanics of stiffened plates and upper rings were theoretically analyzed using the T-shaped model. Parameter analysis was performed on the two types of stiffeners, and significant influencing factors were selected for regression analysis based on the results. The effectiveness of this method was validated through a shaking table test conducted on a CFST column-steel beam frame structure model.
