Magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) measurements at liquid helium temperature are reported for several resolved f–f vibronic lines of U4+ centres in Cs2ZrCl6. Though these lines are too broad for Zeeman measurements, both the signs and magnitudes of the g‐values are determined from the MCD data using first‐order theory. Some assignments are also suggested on the basis of these data.
