Facile Synthesis of ansa-Zirconocenes Incorporating a Linked Dicarbollyl Ligand via Direct Deboration of Zirconocene Carboranyl Complexes

ansa -Zirconocene amides incorporating a Me 2 C-linked cyclopentadienyl–dicarbollyl or indenyl–dicarbollyl ligand were conveniently prepared from direct deboration of the corresponding carboranyl metal complexes using diamines as deboration agents. This represents a new methodology for the preparation of metal dicarbollides.
