The reducibility of La1-xSrxCoO3 (a perovskite-type mixed oxide) remarkably increased with the Sr2+ content, x, but the rate of re-oxidation of the reduced catalysts decreased with x. These trends well explain the catalytic activity for oxidation on the basis of redox mechanism.
