A novel method of generating microwave and millimeter wave radiation in magnetic materials through the influence of high-intensity mechanical vibrations is described. Measured values of the static strain dependence of cubic ferrite materials are used to illustrate the principle, and arguments are presented extending this method to millimeter wave generation in antiferromagnetic materials.
