Desilylation of [W(⋮CC⋮CSiMe 3 )(CO) 2 L] (L = HB(pz) 3, HB(pz‘) 3; pz = pyrazol-1-yl, pz‘ = 3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl) with [Bu 4 N]F in the presence of [AuCl(PPh 3 )] provides the neutral complexes [W(⋮CC⋮CAuPPh 3 )(CO) 2 L] in addition to traces of the salt [Bu 4 N][Au(C⋮CC⋮W(CO) 2 {HB(pz) 3 }) 2 ]. The corresponding salt [N(PPh 3 ) 2 ][Au(C⋮CC⋮W(CO) 2 {HB(pz‘) 3 }) 2 ] may be obtained in high yield via the reaction of [W(⋮CC⋮CSiMe 3 )(CO) 2 {HB(pz‘) 3 }] with methanolic KOH in the presence of [AuCl(SMe 2 )].
