Association of 9-anthracenecarboxylic acid (9AC) with colloidal TiO2 in acetonitrile extended its absorption into the visible region (up to λ ≈ 450 nm). Triplet energy transfer on the surface of TiO2 from 9AC to oxazine-725 was observed in the TiO2-9AC system containing oxazine-725 upon excitation with a 425 nm laser pulse. The influence of association of 9AC with colloidal TiO2 on its photophysical properties, and the dependence of triplet-triplet energy transfer efficiency on the surface coverage of the donor and acceptor, were determined using nanosecond laser flash photolysis.
