A memorable loopy address: A simple molecular memory, named the “hairpin-DNA memory”, has been developed (see schematic). The memory employs the temperature-controlled conformational transition of hairpin-DNA strands in memory writing and erasing and allows parallel addressing of a very large memory space without physical wiring. Experiments on repetitive memory writing and erasing demonstrated that the molecular addressing was highly selective and parallel.
