This paper presents the results of developing a water-activated exothermic mixture based on aluminum powder and calcium oxide for use in flameless heat sources. Optimal component ratios were determined, and the effect of mechanochemical activation on the reactivity of the composition was studied. Experimental results and physicochemical analysis of the synthesized composition are provided. Thermodynamic modeling demonstrated that the developed mixture exhibits high reactivity and can serve as an efficient flameless heat source (ΔH = -12,470.7 kJ/mol, (ΔG = -21,140.5 kJ/mol, T = 586°C). The developed system can be integrated into autonomous devices for controlled local heat application, opening prospects for its use in biomedicine-particularly for stimulating tissue regeneration and reducing bacterial colonization during wound therapy, as well as for warming infusion solutions and blood components to physiologically optimal temperatures (≥34°C), which contributes to preventing of hypothermia and improves clinical outcomes.
