High precision modeling of the dynamic behavior of electrical machines is very important for many applications such as machine control algorithms. In this context, the objective of this study is to build an exact equivalent circuit for an electrical motor. The most important feature of the proposed circuit is that it converts the mechanical part of an electric motor into an electrical circuit and includes magnetic saturation into the circuit. Long-shunt compound DC motor type was selected to test the success of the proposed method. After giving the mathematical model containing the electrical and mechanical equations of the motor, a circuit was proposed for the mechanical part, the magnetic saturation effect was also added to the model. and an exact equivalent circuit model was obtained. Simulations of the proposed circuit were first made, and then experimental studies were carried out to support the simulations. The results are extremely similar to each other, and they proved the accuracy of the proposed method. With the proposed exact electrical equivalent circuit, an electric motor can be modeled as a complete electrical circuit in circuit simulation programs and can be easily combined with other power electronics and similar circuits to perform analyses.
