In this study, the plastic deformation of 6061-O aluminum alloy was carried out via constrained groove pressing (CGP), and the effects of conventional CGP (conv-CGP) and cross-CGP, as well as the deformation passes, on the microstructure, mechanical properties, and corrosion resistance of aluminum alloy were studied. The results showed that the average grain size of Cross-CGP1 was reduced from 10.29 μm (for 6061-O) to 5.89 μm. The tensile strength and yield strength of Cross-CGP1 specimens increased by 22.8 % and 51.8 %, respectively. The corrosion resistance of 6061-O can be effectively improved by CGP and the improvement effect of cross-CGP is better.
