We prepared α-Bi 2 O 3 /BiOBr core–shell heterojunction via a facile in situ chemical transformation method. The prepared α-Bi 2 O 3 /BiOBr photocatalyst is characteristic of porous and high specific surface area, and shows high photocatalytic activity.
