Salts of (2-(dimethylamino)ethyl)cyclopentadienyl (Cp N ) group VI metal carbonyl anions ([M(CO) 3 (η 5 -Cp N )] - (M = Cr, Mo, W)), important reagents for studies involving Cp N, have been characterized by X-ray crystallography. These anions (M‘ = Mo, W) react with R 3 SnCl (R = Ph, cyclohexyl) to provide structurally characterized tin(IV) derivatives.
