Crystal nuclei with the {hkl}<110> orientations are energetically favored in annealing of cold‐rolled steel under a strong magnetic field. This might explain the enhancement of the α‐fiber in during this process at 650 °C (see Figure for a juxtaposition of microstructures obtained at 10T (top) and without a magnetic field (bottom). Texture evolution during recrystallization above 650 °C also appears to be influenced, yet not by a change in the recrystallization mechanism but rather by an additional orientation‐dependent nucleation and grain growth process.
