This review is an attempt to summarize the literature pertinent to singlet molecular oxygen over the period June 1975-June 1976.Reports on this topic span a wide range of interests: from theoretical attempts to understand, and consequently predict, the interaction between '02 and organic materials, to applications of these reactions to complex biological systems.Although such a survey is necessarily heterogeneous and can hardly be exhaustive, it emphasizes the interdisciplinary aspects of this subject.
