Cycloguanil pamoate repository was given intragluteally to 50 patients with dermal and mucocutaneous infections of Leishmania braziliensis. In 41 patients there was clinical and parasitological cure with one injection of the drug; 3 others were cured by 2 injections. The cure rate was therefore 88% with cycloguanil pamoate alone. 5 patients received antimony treatment after failing to respond to cycloguanil pamoate alone. One patient with mucocutaneous manifestations continued to be positive for L-D bodies throughout the study. Systemic and other reactions to the drug were minimal and did not preclude its use.
