Recent research suggests that Down syndrome (DS) children exhibit a broad range of personality styles and interest in interpersonal interaction. Autism has been observed in association with a number of other conditions but very rarely in association with DS. A child with DS who also meets criteria for autism is presented. Implications of the association of these disorders are discussed. J. Am. Acad. Child Adolesc. Psychiatry , 1988, 27, 4:440–441.
