We present observations on two-level-system tunneling of dislocation kinks as well as direct evidence of the suppression of the tunneling due to dissipation, obtained by turning on and off a damping mechanism. The results are based on measurements of sound velocity in the superconducting and normal states of aluminum, in the presence of a bias stress used to generate the two-level system.
