The stereospecific polymerization of isoprene with new catalytic systems not containing any direct metal‐carbon bonds is reported. In particular the catalytic activity of halogen‐alane etherates together with TiCl4 is shown as a function of the variables of the reaction. By such catalyst systems it was possible to obtain, with high yields, polymers of isoprene having predominantly a 1,4 cis‐structure with excellent technological properties.
