Twenty birds from each of four lines were force molted while similar numbers were maintained as nonmolted controls. Egg yolk cholesterol values were obtained for all birds pre and post molting. While molted birds in two lines yielded higher cholesterol values than nonmolted controls, differences were not significant. Similar response patterns of nonmolted controls indicate that increases in cholesterol level were not a direct effect of molting.
