In this paper, we study the generalized Kirchhoff type equation in the presence of past and finite history $$ uₜₜ-M(x,t,{τ},\;{∥}{∇}u(t){∥}^2){Δ}u+{{2}{∫_0}^t}\;h(t-{τ})div[a(x){∇}u({τ}) ] d{τ}\\{25}-{{2}{∫_{-{∞}}}^t}\;k(t-{τ}){Δ}u(x,t)d{τ}+{}u{}γu+{μ}_1u_t(x,t)+{μ}_2u_t(x,t-s(t))=0.$$ Under the smallness condition with respect to Kirchhoff coefficient and the relaxation function and other assumptions, we prove the expoential decay rate of the Kirchhoff type energy.
