Reflexivity, an integrative process of critical examination of the knowledge in texts and personal experience, is a teaching practice that assists students in becoming sensitive to family diversity. Written and interactive strategies for guiding student reflexivity are provided, including journal writing, discussing study questions, in-class writing, and making use of the situation at hand.
