The successful production, isolation and multistage chromatographic separation of the Er@C 82 (I, II), Er 2 @C 84 (I), and Er 2 @C 82 (I, II, III) isomers are described in detail. The newly synthesized metallofullerenes Er@C 82 (I, II) and Er 2 @C 84 (I) are also characterized by LD-TOF mass spectrometry and UV−vis−NIR absorption spectroscopy.
