Results are presented for the ground-state energies of a two-dimensional charge-density-wave state in a strong uniform magnetic field. The effects of exchange and correlation are included within the local-density approximation to the density-functional theory. Comparison with other theoretical calculations indicates that there is an explicit magnetic field dependence of the correlation energy due to electron localization.
